Michael Flanagan has over a decade of hands on experience in every facet of the arrangement and implementation of end-to-end asset backed commercial paper programs.

This experience includes the issue and payment of rated asset-backed commercial paper, implementation of trading systems and banking arrangements, hedging interest rate exposures in rated structures, and reviewing and setting interest rate strategies.

Michael has played a major role in establishing and managing the highly rated asset backed commercial paper programs created by AssetBacked Finance to-date and continues to do so in the creation of the AussieMac Conduit and more recently the creation of AMP Capital Investor’s bond arbitrage vehicle, Quay 62.

Michael has a wide network of business contacts through sport. He has played rugby for Queensland, the Natal President’s XV, and the Natal Currie Cup. He has represented both Australian Universities and Irish Universities, and was both the Team and Club Captains of University of Queensland’s Red Heavies.

Michael has a Master of Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School Of Business, University College Dublin, Ireland and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.
